Not my favorite musical...by a long shot.
Casa Manana was an interesting venue for this show, despite being a classically trained musician, I'm not a fan of opera. I enjoyed the creativity necessary to bring a helicopter into a setting that was smaller than it was. There were no real stand-out performances, but all were adequate, the orchestra is to be applauded for playing without rest the whole time.
I felt the vibration and saw enough to make me feel it was back there, if you like this show I think you'll be disappointed that there wasn't more spectacle. I thought the singers did well, singing the dialog distracts from the songs themselves with one blurring into the other. Overall it was a good ensemble performance, all were adequate, and the orchestra is to be applauded for playing without rest the whole time.
This is normally a large scale production, this is not to distract from the quality of the performances. If you don't know it and don't mind the opera style performance, I'm sure you'll enjoy it, if you don't like opera, you will probably not enjoy it at all. I'm sure seeing it in this intimate setting was disappointing to some, but I did not care for the show itself.
